Specialty Services

Expectations for becoming pregnant and what parenthood will look like can get in the way of reality, which can cause intense emotions like grief, anger, depression, and anxiety.

Pregnancy Counseling

Pregnancy can be one of the most exciting times in a person's life, as well as one of the most trying.  A healthy pregnancy can be physically, mentally and emotionally draining and the stress of a pregnancy with complications or fetal concerns only adds to the weight.  Many women find themselves struggling with body image during this time, as their body grows and adjusts for the small life inside of them.  Being pregnant also offers its own challenges in preparing for the unknown of delivery and life after bringing baby home.

Postpartum Counseling

The postpartum period can be a very challenging time as individuals navigate their new role as a parent.  Many new parents struggle with identity and don't know how to integrate their "new" self with their "old" self.  This time period may also bring about new complications in relationships.  Other new parents experience extreme sadness, anxiety, and anger without understanding why.

Fertility Counseling

Fertility struggles can be a very isolating experience as it may be difficult to talk to friends and family about such a personal issue.  Those going through infertility may even find themselves placing blame on their body and life choices.  Many people find themselves grieving how they envisioned becoming pregnant, announcing a pregnancy, and any other milestones that go with becoming pregnant.  Others find themselves with intense anger towards seeing pregnant women or even towards friends who they have been extremely close to.
